..Our God is bigger than [James Jeffords], our God is bigger than the Senate, than the entire US Government [believe it or not]. He can change this man's heart. Or He could have the constituents impeach this man & replace him. Or He could keep the change in place and pass through the items He has planned for our country despite the "balance of power". Can we be righteous in our fervent prayers for our government, and ask God for His will? What will glorify Him most? Perhaps to keep this scary & revolting change and do miracles in our government anyway? Let's keep praying for spiritual revival, prayer back in schools, an end to abortion. What does God have in mind?

1. "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord. Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)

2. And James 5:16, "The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

3. Proverbs 29:25, "The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe."

4. I Tim 2:1, "Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness & reverence."

5. I Peter 3:12, "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

6. Romans 8:26, "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

7. I Peter 4:7, "But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers."

8. Phil. 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, WITH THANKSGIVING, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

9. 2 Chronicles 7:14, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

10. II Kings 19:19, "Now therefore, O Lord our God, I pray, save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God, You alone."

11. Psalm 34:10b, "but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing!"

12. Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be open to you."

13. Psalm 66:18, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear."

14. Daniel 10:12, "...from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard;..."

15. I Samuel 12:23, "Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way."
